The CVSA folks seem to be launching a widespread campaign to take advantage of terrorism fears. There is a hot debate in progress between CVSA & polygraph proponents at:

The exchange could use some more input...

Several years ago I spoke with Chapman about his study. As he explained it to me, he used his personal experience and statistics to come up with an accuracy rate of somewhere around 92%. From my discussion with him, it appeared he merely used raw data and NITV tried to pawn it off as a scientific study. Chapman was at that time closely associated with NITV at a time when NITV was reporting Chapman's "research" showed an accuracy rate of 98%. When I confronted Chapman with the discrepancy, he told me that NITV was mistaken in their claim of 98%.

I'm not sure what to make of the following claim made by Chapman in the article associated with the link on this thread:

“My 19-year longitudinal study of more than 2,100 crimes in which CVSA technology was used produced a court-admissible confession rate of 94.6 percent,” Chapman explained.

If only 94.6% of his confessions are court-admissible, I would argue he is not doing a very good job at obtaining court-admissible confessions. I would expect confessions obtained by interogators to be much higher...somewhere above 99%. Occasionally, a confession may get tossed, but that should be a very, very rare occurrence, in my opinion. Maybe I expect too much.

Anyway, just my observations.

Hello Folks

Here is some timely information that I just received regarding some in fighting between NITV and a former employee:

NEWS

For Immediate Release Contact: E. Gary Baker

JURY FINDS NITV, LLC DEFAMED COMPETITOR

E. Gary Baker of Baker Group International is pleased to announce that after a four day trial, a Palm Beach County, Florida jury has concluded that NITV, LLC, manufacturer of CVSA® defamed him through its January 2005 publication of a "Law Enforcement Alert" and "Law Enforcement Scam Alert." Although the jury awarded $575,000.00 in damages, Gary values his reputation and relationships much higher.

Although NITV, LLC has filed post-verdict motions, a Final Judgment upon the verdict was signed by the judge on December 10, 2009. It is Gary Baker's intent to deal with said motions in due course, while refocusing his efforts regarding his DVSA©™ credibility assessment software. Copies of the Verdict and Final Judgment are attached hereto or may be requested from our website: www.BakerDVSA.com. Other documents related to the case are available through the Palm Beach County, Florida Clerk of Court.

Baker Group - International, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920-0191 (321) 289-3852 or Email: bakergroupint@cs.com.

There has been a lot of voice stress infighting in the past two years, including a bitter battle between two voice stress associations, with NITV siding with one against the other. Maybe they'll destroy each other.
